Welsh rugby favourite Josh Navidi will return to familiar surroundings at Principality Stadium this month as he officially launches his Testimonial Year with a special Beaujolais Day celebration.
‘Josh Navidi Does Beaujolais’ will take place on Thursday 19 November 2026 at the Riverside Terrace, Principality Stadium, bringing together supporters, former teammates, friends and businesses for an afternoon of food, entertainment and fundraising.
The event marks the beginning of a year-long programme celebrating Navidi’s career while raising funds and awareness for the Maxwell Family Genomics Fund and Alzheimer’s Society Cymru.
For Navidi, launching the year at the home of Welsh rugby feels particularly appropriate. The former Cardiff back-rower earned 33 caps for Wales and represented the British & Irish Lions, but in retirement has remained a familiar face at Principality Stadium in a very different role. Navidi has become a popular part of the stadium’s matchday entertainment, regularly swapping rugby boots for DJ decks.
Earlier this year he returned to the Principality Stadium pitch to perform a special half-time DJ set during Wales’ Guinness Six Nations fixture against Italy, while previous appearances have included Judgement Day and Wales’ 2023 Rugby World Cup warm-up against England.
Now Navidi will be back behind the decks as part of his own celebration.
The Beaujolais Day event begins from 1pm and includes a drinks reception and canapés, two-course meal with wine, entertainment from Josh and special guests, plus a charity raffle and auction. Ticket packages start from £95 per person.
Navidi said: “Principality Stadium has been a massive part of my rugby career and it’s somewhere I’m lucky enough to still spend a lot of time now, although behind the decks rather than on the pitch.
So it feels right that we launch the Testimonial Year here at the home of Welsh Rugby. We want the whole year to be about bringing people together, having some brilliant experiences and, most importantly, raising as much as we can for two causes that mean a huge amount to me.
We’ve got a great afternoon planned for Beaujolais Day and there are just a few final tables left, so hopefully we can fill the room and get the year off to a really good start.”
The launch will begin a varied programme of sporting, social and fundraising events planned throughout the Testimonial Year, celebrating a career that saw Navidi represent Cardiff throughout his professional club career and go on to play at the highest level for Wales and the British & Irish Lions.
A small number of tables remain available for the Beaujolais Day launch, with organisers able to accommodate groups of different sizes, including tables of six and eight as well as larger parties.
