Speedway riders and officials gave the thumbs up following a full practice event that was held at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

Sixteen British riders took part in a 20 heat format practise event at the venue yesterday – and all of them relished the chance to take to the shale at the iconic stadium.

Organisers of the 2015 Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix – that takes place on Saturday 4th July – were given earlier-than-usual access to the Millennium Stadium in order to build the world championship track on the new Desso pitch that has been put in place for the forthcoming Rugby World Cup.

The track building team gained access on 15 June and have spent the last week building on the Terratrak Plus surface, that has been put in place to protect the playing surface since One Direction hit the Welsh Capital back on 05 June.

Following practice, the track building team were happy with how the track performed and it will continue to be maintained until the main event on 4th July.

The riders who took part were:

1 Kyle Howarth
