X factor star Rylan Clark is set to present and perform at the biggest-ever Welsh LGBT festival – the Cardiff Mardi Gras at the Millennium Stadium this August.

The annual festival will see the return of the Mardi Gras Parade with floats throughout the city to celebrate equality and diversity for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities.

Rylan said: “I’m really excited to be hosting and performing at Cardiff Mardi Gras.  It’s a great cause that’s really close to my heart and I reckon this will be the best year yet.”

Scott Davies, director of Cardiff Mardi Gras, said:  “Aside from the huge range of entertainment being lined up for the Cabaret Garden, we are currently in talks with various celebrity artistes to perform on the main stage at the Millennium Stadium.  Rylan Clark is just a teaser.

“We are keen to provide something for everyone this year. No matter how old you are, there will be an act at Cardiff Mardi Gras for you.”

The event for the last 13 years has taken place at Cooper's Field but this year the Millennium Stadium will host a range of live entertainment.

This year's events include a cabaret garden, youth zone and a funfair on August 31.
