The Millennium Stadium’s Santa Claus Tours have been praised by local Christmas lovers after the home of Welsh sport threw open its doors for the annual festive treat for all the family.

For the opening weekend of the Christmas Tours, families from all over South Wales joined in the fun-filled search for Santa’s magical grotto deep in the heart of iconic rugby stadium.

Over 500 guests visited the home changing room, the players’ tunnel and the hallowed pitch while seeking out the all-important clues leading to the grotto full of Christmas gifts for Santa’s young visitors.

Nia Mererid from Llandaff North was among the record number of visitors, making her annual Christmas trip to the venue with boyfriend Marc Summers and children Zac (4) and Brooke (2). Nia said:

“Santa Claus Tours at the Millennium Stadium are absolutely fantastic. Yet again the organisers have created such a magical experience and gone another step further to make the Tour extra special for everyone that takes part.

“Adults and children of all ages were having a fabulous time as we followed the route of the national rugby team to find the secret Santa’s grotto. All the children participated in the fun and the tour guides did an excellent job of including everyone, even speaking in Welsh to my family and other Welsh speaking children!”

“No matter what age your children are, I’d definitely recommend the Millennium Stadium’s Santa Claus’ Tours. It’s a really Christmassy treat in one of the world’s most famous sports stadiums; A double delight for all the family!”

Offering something for all the family, the magical Christmas tour takes in all the rugby highlights on the route to the fantastical surroundings of Santa’s grotto where the elves will re-stock Santa Claus’ sleigh full of presents on Christmas Eve.

The Santa Claus’ Tours include a gift for all good girls and boys. The tours are free for children under two years old, £8.50 for under 12s and £5.50 for adults, with concessions and group discounts available.
