Next summer’s event will celebrate 10 years of speedway at the iconic venue and fans can expect the usual explosion of family fun as the 500cc bikes roar into town once again at the earlier start time of 5pm, with prices starting at just £27.

Round six of the World Championship Series will bring the world’s top 15 riders to Cardiff to compete at over 70mph, with no brakes or gears, and fans wanting to soak up the passion should take advantage of the advance booking offer via 0871 230 7155 or click here

Paul Bellamy, managing director, BSI Speedway said: “Next year’s event marks our 10th anniversary at the Millennium Stadium and once again we will be planning a GP that is bigger and better than we have ever had before.

“To ensure that even more sports fans have the chance to experience all the thrills and spills that are part and parcel of the British SGP, prices are being held at 2009 prices if booked before 31 December.”

Following the success of the earlier start time at last year’s event, he added: “The five o’clock start time allows fans to come into Cardiff, enjoy the atmosphere and the delights the city has to offer before entering the Millennium Stadium.”

The first FIM British Speedway Grand Prix was held at the multi-event arena in front of more than 30,000 fans in June, 2001 and has grown year on year with over 42,000 fans racing through the gates in 2009.

The bowl is transformed into a world class racing track under the direction of former three times world champion Ole Olsen and the track of 3,000 tonnes of shale – constructed in just five days – is always a hit with the riders.

Millennium Stadium venue sales manager Alex Luff said: “We are very excited about welcoming the FIM Speedway Grand Prix organisers back to Cardiff next year to celebrate what has been a fantastic 10 years at the Millennium Stadium.
