David Moffett, WRU Group Chief Executive, said: “This will be a momentous occasion for Wales and Cardiff and will provide the sternest possible test for Mike Ruddock and the team in the first match of an historic Series which will see Wales play against all three Southern Hemisphere super-powers.

“The event will kick off our 125th Anniversary season celebrations and following on from a Grand Slam season, gives our fans a huge amount to look forward to.

“We have put together a great ticket package which means that supporters can see all three matches against the Southern Hemisphere sides for under £99 which means fantastic value for money.

“Our clubs will be receiving information about these packages in due course and if any tickets remain, they will be put on public sale in the early part of next season.

“We are currently looking at three different venues for the game against Fiji on the weekend of November 12 – Wrexham, Swansea and the Millennium Stadium. Various factors need to be taken into consideration but whatever the outcome, these are exciting times for Welsh rugby and the games against Fiji never fail to entertain.”

NZRU Chief Executive Chris Moller said the November 5th match would be a fitting tribute to the “Originals” who played in the first historic Test match at Cardiff Arms Park during the 1905 tour. That was the first team to be called the ‘All Blacks’.

“The match-up between the All Blacks and Wales is not only a celebration of that famous match, but it is also a re-match of last year’s stirring Test between the two countries and creates the possibility of a Grand Slam attempt by the All Blacks.”

He added it was also appropriate that New Zealand would meet the current Six Nations champions making for a highly anticipated kick-off to the UK tour.
